MDP Detecting Days was created with a simple mission: to bring metal
detecting enthusiasts together for fun, friendly, and responsible
detecting events across the UK.
We are passionate about uncovering history, one signal at a time—and
believe that detecting should be accessible, well-organised, and rooted
in respect for the land and heritage we explore. That’s why every MDP
Detecting Day is carefully planned with permission from landowners,
guided by a clear code of conduct, and open to detectorists of all
levels.
Whether you're new to the hobby or a seasoned digger, our events offer a
welcoming atmosphere, quality fields, and the chance to meet
like-minded people who share a love for discovery.
Our commitment to responsible detecting is supported by our Metal
Detecting Passport, a tool designed to help participants log finds,
access permissions, and stay within best practice guidelines.
